Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit – 16 Month Contract

Central London | Hybrid - (3 days office-based)

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established organisation based in Central London, who are seeking an experienced Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit to join their finance function on a 16-month contract.

This is a key role responsible for overseeing statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory compliance, while providing leadership and support to the wider finance team.

Responsibilities of the Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit:

Lead the preparation and review of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process

Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and compliance submissions

Maintain strong financial controls and support continuous improvements to processes and procedures

Provide technical accounting guidance and stay up to date with relevant reporting standards and legislation

Oversee tax-related reporting requirements, including VAT and corporation tax compliance

Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors and external advisors

Lead, support and develop members of the finance team

The successful Head of Statutory Reporting & Audit will have:

Strong experience in statutory reporting, audit management and financial controls

Experience preparing statutory accounts and working with regulatory requirements

Excellent knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP experience would be advantageous)

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Previous team management experience

A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
