About the Role

\n

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join a busy and supportive GP Practice in Northampton.

\n

Working closely with the Practice Nursing Team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting a wide range of clinical services, and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA looking to develop their career within Primary Care.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • \n Provide a high-quality phlebotomy service
  • \n

  • \n Undertake NHS Health Checks and routine health assessments
  • \n

  • \n Record blood pressure, height, weight, ECGs, urinalysis, peak flow measurements, and other baseline observations
  • \n

  • \n Assist with wound care, infection prevention and control, and minor surgical procedures
  • \n

  • \n Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate clinical records using SystmOne
  • \n

  • \n Chaperone patients during clinical examinations where required
  • \n

  • \n Maintain vaccine cold chain records and monitor clinical equipment
  • \n

  • \n Restock clinical rooms and maintain medical supplies
  • \n

  • \n Support health promotion initiatives and patient education
  • \n

  • \n Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team

What We’re Looking ForEssential

\n

    \n
  • \n Phlebotomy Certificate
  • \n

  • \n Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
  • \n

  • \n Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n

  • \n Strong organisational and IT skills
  • \n

  • \n Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • \n

  • \n Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care
  • \n

  • \n Understanding of confidentiality and information governance

\n\n

Desirable

\n

  • \n Previous experience working within General Practice
  • \n

  • \n Experience using SystmOne
  • \n

  • \n Experience undertaking NHS Health Checks
  • \n

  • \n Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures

\n\n
