Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NPD Junior Chef to join the team at Cranswick Sutton Fields. The role will provide a site-based resource within the development team to manage NPD projects for the Sutton Fields site for their customer base from initial ideation to launch.
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Understands the relationship between the supplier and customer (buyer, developer and technologist)
- Understands what a 'good job' looks like for internal panel etiquette
- May support external panels through product preparation and cooking
- Prepares samples for presentations, either from the kitchen or factory to an acceptable standard and agreed timescale
- Understands what a critical path is and why we need them
- Reads food trend reports issued
- Aware of internal stakeholders across the customer base (e.g. who the account manager is for each customer) and site
- With support of line manager, delivers given workload within the confines of a daily plan and raises concerns if workload is unmanageable within the day
- Awareness of food quality standards, CCPs, allergens and hygiene standards
- Ability to work from recipe sheets to produce kitchen and factory samples
- Ability to work unsupervised in a factory environment
- Comfortable to work in factory, office and kitchen environments
- Can accurately enter data into Excel and can create basic formulas
- Strong team player and works for the good of the team
- Flexible; is able to work within a fast-moving environment with change and high expectations
- Demonstrate a genuine interest and understanding of food
- Has good attention to detail
- Good motivational and interpersonal skills
- Holds a full UK drivers license
