Job summaryRadiology Department Assistant, Radiology Department- Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Royal Hampshire County Hospital (some working at Andover War Memorial Hospital as required)
The post includes a degree level (6) Diagnostic Radiography apprenticeship. The training provider is Health Sciences University so the applicant will need to meet all entry requirements. International applicants will require IELTS (academic) 7.0 overall, with no component below 6.5. We also require a UK right to remain OR adequate visa requirements and have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years. Please ensure your application is clear that you meet these requirements.
Main duties of the job
Working Hours: Full time - variable shifts.
You will be employed as a Radiology Department Assistant, receiving a salary while undertaking fully funded apprenticeship training. This funded learning opportunity is open to adult applicants of all ages.

Who we are: We are a friendly Radiology Department who undertake in excess of 340,000 examinations per year. The main facility is at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and a satellite department at Andover War Memorial Hospital. The largest demand is in CT, MR and US.

The apprenticeship study takes 3 years, in the first year 20% of work time is protected to complete the apprenticeship programme. This incrementally increases throughout the years of study.
The remaining work time outside of the apprenticeship will be occupied by clinical practice as an RDA. Radiology Department assistants work alongside Radiologists, Sonographers, Radiographers and Nurses to support clinical operation and patient safety. You will need to work in various clinical areas, across all HHFT sites and partake in full 7 day working and extended days/nights.
This role will not convert into a band 5 Radiographer position on completion of study. The post holder will remain in an RDA position and would be responsible for applying for suitable positions.

- oInternational Baccalaureate: Overall grade of 30-32 points of higher
- oT Level: Merit.
- First Aid/Basic Life Support.
