Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Full GDC Registration and Licence to Practice
• BDS or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• MFDS or MJDF equivalent
• Distinctions, prizes, awards, scholarships, other degrees or diplomas
• Evidence of Presentations
• Evidence of Publications
• Teaching Experience

Experience and Skills

Essential criteria

• Appropriate knowledge of basic science and the ability to apply this to clinical practice
• 1 -2 years' experience at Junior level or equivalent
• 1st On call experience in Oral & maxillofacial Surgery
• Able to satisfy the requirements of the dental performers' requirements as relating to English language skills
• Proven ability to make good dental & medical notes
• Completion of undergraduate dental training in English OR Applicants who do not fit into the above categories need to provide other evidence of adequate communication skills

Desirable criteria

• Examples of a critical enquiring approach to the acquisition of knowledge

Health

Essential criteria

• Meets professional health requirements in line with GDC Standards/ Good Medical Practice

Personal

Essential criteria

• Proven effective communication skills (with examples).
• Proven previous experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Examples of ability to establish professional relationships with patients
• Flexibility to rotate as specified in the JD
