As a Student Adviser and Safeguarding Officer at Stanmore College, you will play a vital role in supporting students throughout their college journey, providing guidance, early intervention, and safeguarding support that enables them to overcome challenges and thrive.

The Role

Working within the Student Support team, you will provide pastoral guidance, safeguarding support, and targeted interventions for a caseload of students, ensuring they receive the support they need to remain safe, engaged, and successful.

You will:
  • Provide advice, guidance, and pastoral support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, and academic barriers.
  • Act as a Safeguarding Officer, responding to safeguarding concerns and working with colleagues and external agencies to support vulnerable learners.
  • Support students through key transition points and develop tailored support plans where additional intervention is required.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, curriculum staff, and external professionals to promote student wellbeing and success.
  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records and contribute to reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive college environment where students feel safe, respected, and able to achieve their full potential.Act as a Safeguarding Officer, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and supporting a safe and inclusive College environment.

Salary: £31,156 - £33,543 per annum
