Tax Director – Accountancy Practice
The Tax Director role at Sheridan Maine in London offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary between £80,000 and £90,000 per annum. Based in Northwest London, Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well‑established and growing accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Tax Director to join the senior leadership team. The role involves overseeing the firm’s tax advisory services, managing client relationships, and providing strategic guidance on complex tax matters.
Key responsibilities include developing the tax offering, contributing to firm growth, and supporting a diverse client portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the tax function, ensuring high‑quality service delivery
- Providing expert tax advice to a portfolio of private clients and businesses
- Managing complex tax planning and advisory projects
- Building strong, long‑term relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for growth
- Supporting the development of junior team members and promoting a culture of learning
- Working collaboratively with other departments to deliver a comprehensive service offering
- Contributing to the strategic direction and continued growth of the practice
The successful Tax Director will be an experienced tax professional with a strong background gained within an accountancy practice environment. You will be commercially focused, client‑oriented and confident operating at a senior level.
Requirements
- Significant experience in tax advisory roles within practice
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of tax areas
- Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering tailored advice
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team
