Job description
Job Title: Class 1 (Category C+E) Driver
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (Category C+E) articulated vehicles.
- Complete deliveries and collections in accordance with planned schedules.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
- Complete all delivery documentation accurately, including digital records where required.
- Comply with DVSA regulations, Drivers' Hours Rules, Working Time Directive, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate tachograph records and ensure legal compliance at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding journey progress, delays, or incidents.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and presentable.
- Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation and drivers' hours regulations.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights away where required.
