Job description

The purpose of the role is to support work as part of UCS College Groups wider environmental and sustainability programme. This includes enhancing the campus surroundings by contributing to the management of each campuses’ biodiversity and wildlife habitat agenda.

This will be achieved by working with the wider Bridgwater College team, driving our recycling rates and waste management as well as campus-wide external cleansing operations. This will contribute to the wider biodiverse, habitat enrichment programme that reduces the impact of our day-to-day business operations.

The successful candidate will be required to be responsible across college, for emptying bins, ensuring waste is deposited into the correct waste streams, leaf clearing, habitat creation and litter picking to protect water courses and hedgerows. Some window cleaning, salt spreading and other ad hoc tasks will be part of the role. The role will also support with event preparation and post event clean up.

These roles ensure that each college is clean and tidy, and contributes to the provision of a safe, welcoming space for all staff, students and visitors.
