Shape the Future of Sustainable Buildings

Are you an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager looking to deliver projects that genuinely make a difference?

We're working with one of the UK's most respected property and infrastructure organisations, renowned for creating innovative, sustainable commercial environments where businesses thrive. With an ambitious long-term growth strategy and significant investment planned over the coming years, this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at the forefront of decarbonisation, smart building technology and modern asset management.

This organisation has built a reputation for investing in both its people and its properties, offering genuine career progression, exposure to high-value projects, and the chance to influence sustainability across a diverse portfolio.

The Role

As an M&E Project Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of mechanical and electrical projects ranging from approximately £25,000 to over £1 million, managing schemes from initial concept through to completion.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors, you'll provide technical leadership while helping drive ambitious Net Zero Carbon and Smart Building initiatives across a high-quality commercial property portfolio.

This is a predominantly office-based role in Manchester city centre, with travel to sites across the portfolio (typically around once per week as required).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple M&E projects simultaneously from design through to delivery.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead contractor management, project programming and financial control.
  • Oversee compliance with CDM Regulations, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise on mechanical and electrical infrastructure and building services.
  • Support the rollout of Smart Building technologies across existing and future developments.
  • Drive energy efficiency and renewable energy projects as part of wider Net Zero Carbon programmes.
  • Work closely with sustainability and energy teams to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Produce technical reports and recommendations to support strategic investment decisions.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, commissioning records and asset information are maintained.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Experience delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects within commercial buildings, property, construction, facilities management or a similar environment.
  • Strong project management experience across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Technical knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical Building Services (support can be provided to strengthen the opposite discipline).
  • Experience managing contractors, project finances and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail.

Desirable Experience

  • Gas Safe, F-Gas or NICEIC knowledge.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Experience supporting sustainability, energy or decarbonisation projects.
  • Smart Building or BMS technology exposure.

Why Join?

This is more than just another project management role.

You'll be joining an organisation that genuinely invests in innovation, sustainability and its people. With a substantial development pipeline, ambitious Net Zero commitments and a collaborative culture, you'll have the opportunity to influence major projects while continuing to develop your own career.

Alongside challenging and rewarding work, you'll benefit from:

  • Annual company bonus
  • 28 days holiday plus your birthday off
  • Holiday buy and sell scheme
  • Up to 8% matched pension
  • Healthcare cash plan
