Job description
Employment Solicitor 1-3+ PQE | Top Tier L500 Firm | London, City | Hybrid Working from Home 3 Days per Week
The Firm:
This is a Top Tier L500-ranked firm in a period of exceptional growth. With offices across the UK, including the City of London, the firm has recently expanded into a new London Bridge office to accommodate demand—growing by an impressive 60% in a single year.
Despite this pace, the firm has remained stable, supportive, and people-focused, with very low staff turnover. It is a place where individuals build long-term careers and progress—demonstrated by lawyers rising from Associate level to Head of Department. Employment law sits at the core of the firm’s success and reputation, making it a key driver of continued expansion.
Hybrid working (typically three days from home) is standard, with a flexible and trusting approach to how people work.
This firm places a strong emphasis on internal progression, with a proven track record of promoting from within — many of their current Heads of Department joined as Associates and have progressed through the ranks.
The Role:
The firm is seeking an Employment Associate 1-3+ PQE to join at a pivotal stage of growth.
You will take a leading role in a thriving Employment team, advising on a full range of contentious and non-contentious matters while helping to shape the next phase of the department’s expansion.
The Employment team consists of a HOD, 2 Partners, 1 Senior Associates, 2 Associates, 2 Solicitors and admin support and a designated client on-boarding team. With multiple future hires planned this year, this firm are looking to build on what is already a very established team.
Why This Role:
- Join a firm in rapid expansion – 60% growth and continued investment in key hires
- Lead within a flagship practice – Employment is the firm’s strongest and most established area
- Flexibility built in – hybrid working and a genuinely supportive, trusting culture
- Real opportunity to grow your practice – strong platform, existing work, and room to develop further
- Proven long-term progression – clear track record of internal advancement into leadership roles
- Stability alongside growth – ambitious but grounded, with low staff turnover
The Candidate & Benefits:
- You are an experienced Employment Associate 1-3+ with strong technical expertise across contentious and non-contentious matters.
- You will be commercially aware, confident in building client relationships, and motivated by the opportunity to play a key role in a growing team. Leadership experience is valued.
- Competitive salary
- Hybrid working (typically 3 days from home)
- Private healthcare and life insurance
- Clear scope for progression and long-term career development
- A growing, ambitious firm where you can build and shape your future
This is an opportunity to join a firm that is not only expanding rapidly, but doing so in a way that creates real opportunity—offering the platform, flexibility, and support to build a lasting and successful career.
