Trevor James Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established local property development company to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manager for an exciting school refurbishment project.


This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a £500,000 renovation project, overseeing the refurbishment of a local school from start to finish. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role


As Assistant Site Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring the project progresses smoothly through to completion.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations on site.
  • Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trades.
  • Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Monitoring project progress against programme and budget.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality control.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Liaising with the Contracts Manager, client, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Managing site documentation, inductions and compliance records.
  • Ensuring the project is completed on time and handed over to an exceptional standard.


About You


We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on refurbishment or construction projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to site management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
