Resource Allocation Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Resource Allocation Manager to join a prestigious international law firm. As a trusted adviser to Practice Area Leaders and Partners, you'll shape workforce planning, optimise resource allocation, and use data-driven insights to support commercial performance and talent development.

Resource Allocation Manager – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitor and analyse fee earner utilisation and capacity, identifying trends, highlighting risks to partners, and recommending solutions to resource constraints
- Optimise work allocation based on pipeline, utilisation, forecasted capacity, and business needs, while supporting individual career development where possible
- Support effective workforce planning by managing annual leave, absences, client secondments, and ensuring clear communication to maintain continuity and utilisation
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding ensuring smooth handovers and accurate utilisation
- Prepare and present utilisation, performance, and appraisal reports to support mid-year/end-of-year reviews, moderation meetings, and partner decision-making
- Produce regular utilisation, forecasting, and executive summary reports, identifying key trends and insights for leadership
- Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely time recording in line with firm policy
- Work with, legal technology and innovation team to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Manage the current resource allocation tools, ensuring they are maintained, accurate and that data is shared efficiently with other core business systems
Resource Allocation Manager – What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a similar Resource Allocation / Resource Management role gained within a law firm
- Strong presentation, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Proven ability to engage Partners and Lawyers and promote the value of resource management
- Demonstrable experience of driving process improvement and embedding new ways of working by designing and implementing tailored solutions
- Strong IT skills
