We're recruiting HGV Class 2 Driver/Loaders for ongoing, full-time work supporting waste and recycling collection services across Bristol.\n Location: Avonmouth & Albert Road, with flexibility to work across other sites in Bristol as required\n Duration: Long-term opportunities with the potential for permanent employment\n Hours: 6:00am 2:30pm (39 hours per week)\n Pay: £17.27 per hour\n \n

• Overtime after 39 hours & Saturdays: 1.5x

\n

• Sundays & Bank Holidays: 2x

\nThe Role\n \nAs an HGV Class 2 Driver/Loader, you'll play a key role in delivering essential waste and recycling services across Bristol. You'll safely operate a range of Class 2 vehicles, work closely with your crew to complete scheduled collection routes, and ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.\n \nKey Responsibilities\n

• Safely drive and operate HGV Class 2 refuse and recycling vehicles in accordance with road traffic legislation and company procedures.

\n

• Complete scheduled refuse, recycling, garden waste and commercial waste collection routes efficiently and safely.

\n

• Assist with the loading, unloading and collection of waste and recycling materials when required.

\n

• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections, report defects promptly and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy.

\n

• Complete all required paperwork and electronic records accurately, including vehicle checks and route information.

\n

• Follow planned routes while adapting to operational changes as directed by supervisors.

\n

• Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring the correct use of PPE and safe working practices at all times.

\n

• Work flexibly across different operational sites and services to meet business needs.

\n

• Communicate professionally with colleagues, supervisors and members of the public, providing excellent customer service.

\n

• Keep vehicles and equipment clean, secure and in good working order.

\n

• Support the wider operations team with other reasonable duties as required.

\n\n \nRequirements\n

\n
• Valid Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence

\n

• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

\n

• Previous HGV Class 2 driving experience is preferred.

\n

• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations and vehicle safety checks.

\n

• Comfortable carrying out physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions.

\n

• Able to work effectively as part of a team with a flexible approach.

\n

• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe working practices.
