Graphic Designer

EDGE MEDICAL COMMUNICATIONS is looking for a Graphic Designer

Job description

Medical communications/education/consulting • Dorking (office-based)

For more than 25 years, EDGE has helped pharmaceutical companies translate complex scientific data into accurate, insightful, and compelling medical communications. Design is central to how we do that in our medical communications, medical education, and strategic medical consulting teams. We are looking for a multidisciplinary designer to join our team.

The role

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires you to be comfortable producing print and digital material in a variety of formats (e.g. Video, web), as well as challenging clients and writers to find the optimal solution to a brief. You will take work from first thought to finished, review-ready artwork across print and digital. You will make dense clinical science look clear and considered. You will work closely with our teams in the UK and Australia, and play a key part in developing engaging, visual content for our clients within their brand guidelines.

The work

Design & artwork

–    Design brand-aligned work across slide decks, scientific reports, congress and symposia materials, infographics, campaigns and digital assets, localising global materials or developing from concept, through to finished, medical-legal-regulatory (MLR)-ready artwork

–    Design and format PowerPoint / PDF containing medical and scientific content to a high standard, with consistent visual identity across every deliverable

–    Turn complex data into clear, accurate visualisations, working alongside our medical writer and commercial teams

Modular & interactive content (Veeva / CLM)

–    Design the look, layout, data visualisation and storyboarding of interactive detail aids (IVAs) built in Veeva

–    Design templated html emails to the same standard—the look, layout and modular content blocks

–    Partner with the client and writers to translate technical requirements into design, and create artwork to brand and technical guidelines, ready for developers to build

–    Quality-assure the developers' builds against the approved design, catching issues before they reach MLR review or the client

–    As our client base grows, apply the same approach to other closed-loop marketing (CLM) and eDetailing platforms where a client works outside Veeva

Brand guardianship & quality

–    Uphold client brand guidelines across all channels

–    Run thorough quality checks for accuracy, consistency, and readiness for MLR review, including within Veeva PromoMats workflows

–    Troubleshoot and resolve design, formatting, and content issues as they arise

Digital

–    Support web page updates and content via content management systems, applying responsive design principles for a strong experience across devices

–    Repurpose congress, symposia and webinar video for web and other digital uses

Collaboration

–    Work across medical communications, medical education, strategic consulting and commercial teams in EDGE and external partner teams to gather requirements and deliver polished, on-brand work to deadline

What we are looking for

–    A strong all-round designer with good ideas, sharp design thinking, excellent layout and a genuine eye for craft and detail

–    Expert Adobe CS skills and experience of Figma

–    Proven experience designing and formatting PowerPoint in a medical or scientific context

–    Experience designing for digital, modular and interactive content, Veeva / CLM / eDetailing, and quality-check of external builds

–    A solid understanding of user-experience, digital principles

–    Exceptional attention to detail, a strong communicator, and comfortable managing multiple projects to tight deadlines

–    Minimum 3 years’ experience in a healthcare / medical communications agency

–    Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK

Education

–    A degree in a relevant field (e.g. Graphic design or multimedia)

What’s on offer

·      Permanent full-time contract

·      Attractive salary, depending on experience and profile

·      Mostly office-based: 4 days/week in our Dorking office, with 1 day from home

·      Opportunity to work on leading pharmaceutical company brands and pipelines

·      A supportive team environment

Send us your portfolio or a selection of work that shows how you think and how you finish as a link, a PDF, or a few examples. Send to HR.UK@madebyedge.com
