HGV Class 2 Driver – Day Shift – Swindon

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy and well-established client based in Swindon.

\n

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Delivery Driver, or Truck Driver.

\n

Shifts

\n

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • Start times between 04:30 – 06:00
\n  • Working until job finish

\n

Rates of Pay

\n

 • £16.00 per hour
\n  • Weekly pay – PAYE

\n

Day-to-Day Duties

\n

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

\n

 • Carrying out deliveries to businesses and building sites
\n  • Operating curtain-side Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Completing pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with safety regulations
\n  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
\n  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required
\n  • Heavy lifting may be involved
\n  • Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
\n  • Completing all relevant paperwork and delivery documentation accurately

\n

Essential Skills

\n

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

\n

 • A minimum of 12 months' Category C driving experience
\n  • A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
\n  • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • No major endorsement codes
\n  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
\n  • A good understanding of UK road traffic laws and drivers' hours regulations
\n  • Good communication and customer service skills

\n

Desirable Experience

\n

 • Previous commercial driving experience would be beneficial
\n  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous
\n  • Experience delivering to businesses and construction sites would be desirable

\n

Training Provided

\n

 • Driver assessment required prior to starting
\n  • Full paid induction provided on your first day
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
