Senior Surveyor/Associate - Estate Management

Location: Dumfries and Galloway

Contract Type: Permanent


Our client is a leading independent rural surveying consultancy with offices across Scotland and Northern England, trusted for generations to deliver professional estate management and consultancy services. They are seeking an MRICS-qualified Senior Surveyor or Associate with a passion for estate management to join their Castle Douglas team, offering genuine career progression and a supportive environment focused on your professional development.


Position Overview

You will work within a team managing retained estates, providing strategic advice and delivering projects from inception to completion. Your work will span landlord and tenant matters, property management, compulsory purchase negotiations, and consultancy services, whilst mentoring junior team members and contributing to business growth.


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day estate operations and strategic planning
  • Deliver consultancy work including compulsory purchase negotiations
  • Oversee instructions from initial brief to completion
  • Prepare fee estimates and quotations for approval
  • Supervise, coach and mentor junior surveyors
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across multiple disciplines
  • Engage in business development and promotional activities
  • Ensure compliance with RICS, GDPR and company procedures


Requirements

  • MRICS qualified
  • CAAV qualification or working towards CAAV qualification
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Demonstrable business development experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and service-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated with high levels of initiative
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours work
  • Commitment to maintaining CPD hours and professional standards
