Job description
Programme Planning Manager
Location: Leeds (Head Office)
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Benefits
We're partnering with a leading UK construction and development business that continues to deliver high-volume projects nationwide. As part of their continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Programme Planning Manager to play a pivotal role in driving project performance across their national construction portfolio.
Working closely with the Managing Director, Commercial Director and Construction Directors, you'll provide programme oversight across multiple live developments, ensuring projects remain on track, risks are identified early and recovery strategies are implemented before issues impact delivery.
This is a hands-on planning role suited to someone who enjoys influencing outcomes rather than simply maintaining programmes. You'll become a key point of contact between operational teams, commercial functions and senior leadership, using programme data to support decision-making and improve delivery performance.
The Role
You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining construction programmes, monitoring progress across multiple live projects and providing clear visibility of programme performance to senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Monitoring progress across multiple developments, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Analysing critical path activities and identifying potential delays before they affect project delivery.
- Producing practical mitigation and recovery plans to keep programmes on track.
- Supporting Construction Directors and Site Management teams with programme reviews and planning strategy.
- Coordinating with commercial, operational and finance teams to ensure programmes reflect project performance.
- Producing KPI reports, progress updates and programme dashboards for senior leadership.
- Ensuring labour, subcontractor and material requirements remain aligned with programme milestones.
- Visiting sites where required to review progress and collaborate with delivery teams.
- Providing accurate forecasting and programme reporting to support business planning.
About You
We're looking for an experienced planner with a strong construction background who understands both the technical and operational aspects of project delivery.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous experience as a Planning Manager, Programme Planning Manager or Senior Construction Planner.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Excellent understanding of construction planning, sequencing, critical path analysis and project controls.
- Experience within residential, healthcare, care homes or other building construction environments.
- The ability to interpret programme data and present meaningful recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decision-making.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a highly successful developer with a substantial pipeline of projects and genuine long-term career prospects. You'll work alongside an experienced leadership team, have real influence over project delivery and play a key role in improving programme performance across a national construction portfolio.
If you're looking for a role where your planning expertise will directly influence business performance rather than simply maintaining programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
