Senior Surveyor - Property Management

Varnom Ross is looking for a Senior Surveyor - Property Management

Job description

Our client is a well-regarded property management business with a portfolio that includes premium office and mixed-use buildings. They're looking for a Senior Surveyor to take ownership of a portfolio of predominantly multi-let central London offices and high-profile mixed-use schemes, working closely with clients, occupiers, and internal teams to manage the assets to a high standard.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who already has experience managing Central London assets and wants to step into a high profile portfolio - including landmark mixed-use schemes.

Duties

  • Taking full day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of premium central London properties, including landmark mixed-use assets, making sure they're run effectively, void periods are minimised, and client objectives are consistently met
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients and occupiers, with regular reporting into senior management
  • Working closely with the facilities team on routine, contracted, and cyclical maintenance, and supporting project management of larger works alongside surveyors and consultants
  • Owning rent and service charge collection, budgeting, and reconciliation, and keeping a close eye on spend against budget through the year
  • Running a programme of regular site visits and inspections
  • Handling insurance claims efficiently and keeping tenants well informed on management matters
  • Applying a solid working knowledge of landlord and tenant law and lease terms
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team and contributing to wider business initiatives

Candidate Profile

  • MRICS qualified, or at least six years' hands-on commercial property management experience
  • A track record managing complex Central London assets, ideally including exposure to complex mixed-use schemes as well as commercial office
  • Confidence liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, from clients and occupiers through to investors, lenders, and professional teams
  • Strong understanding of commercial leases and service charges, and current health & safety obligations
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of decisions, while also operating well as part of a close-knit team
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, good with numbers, and confident with the usual Office/Outlook toolkit
  • A full, clean driving licence

This is a chance to join a business that's genuinely invested in doing property management well, with a portfolio and reputation to match. Package will be tailored to the right candidate's experience.
