Job description
We're working with a leading international law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Trade Mark Attorney to join its highly regarded Intellectual Property team in London.
This is a rare opportunity to work with major domestic and international brands, advising on the full lifecycle of trade mark protection across multiple jurisdictions. The role offers high-quality work, direct client exposure and the chance to become a trusted adviser to a broad portfolio of household names, fast-growth businesses and global organisations.
The Opportunity:
You'll advise clients on all aspects of trade mark strategy and brand protection, including:
- UK and international trade mark clearance and filing strategies
- Portfolio management across multiple jurisdictions
- Prosecution before the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO
- Opposition, cancellation and invalidity proceedings
- Brand enforcement and anti-counterfeiting strategies
- Design rights and broader soft IP issues where appropriate
- Working closely with overseas counsel to coordinate international portfolios
- Supporting clients on commercial brand protection issues from launch through to enforcement
Alongside technical work, you'll be given the platform to build long-term client relationships, contribute to business development and support the growth of an ambitious IP practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Trade Mark Attorney or Senior Associate with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience gained within a recognised private practice or specialist IP environment.
You'll bring:
- Strong technical knowledge of UK and international trade mark law
- Experience managing substantial international trade mark portfolios
- Confidence handling clearance, prosecution and contentious registry matters
- Excellent commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to client advice
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine interest in helping clients protect and develop valuable global brands
This is a standout opportunity to join a highly respected practice with an excellent reputation in the global market. The firm offers high-quality international work, career progression, flexible hybrid working and a supportive culture where attorneys are encouraged to take ownership of client relationships and develop their own practice.
