Interim Litigation Counsel (Disputes & Investigations)


MLA is working with a leading UK wealth management and financial services organisation seeking an experienced Interim Litigation Counsel to join its in-house legal team.


This is a broad disputes-focused role advising senior stakeholders on a range of contentious and potentially contentious matters across the business. You will play a key role in managing legal, regulatory and reputational risk, while supporting the organisation's commercial objectives.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on litigation, disputes, investigations and regulatory matters.
  • Supporting dispute avoidance, escalation and resolution strategies.
  • Managing external counsel and overseeing significant contentious matters.
  • Conducting internal investigations and advising on conduct and regulatory issues.
  • Providing strategic advice on legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
  • Working closely with senior business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supporting incident management and complex commercial risk matters.

About you:

  • UK qualified solicitor with significant disputes and investigations experience.
  • Strong background gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both.
  • Experience handling complex litigation, regulatory investigations and contentious risk matters.
  • Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Financial services experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
