Job description

Join 1stCurve Ltd, a growing London-based consultancy, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will work with major contractors, infrastructure clients, and project teams, providing commercial and contractual expertise across complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. 


The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, proactive, and confident managing high-value work packages while working independently and as part of a wider project team. 


Experience 


  • 7+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within major civil engineering or infrastructure projects. 
  • Experience managing high-value and complex commercial packages. 
  • Experience working for a main contractor, principal contractor, consultancy, or infrastructure organisation. 


Qualifications 


  • Required: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. 
  • Desirable: Chartered status (RICS, ICES, or equivalent) or actively working towards professional accreditation. 


Skills 


  • Extensive NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, compensation events, and change management. 
  • Cost management, forecasting, valuation, and financial reporting expertise. 
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic commercial judgement. 
  • Experience managing commercial risk and change control processes. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills. 
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to mentor and support junior commercial staff. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management systems.

  • City of London – minimum 3 days per week in the office, with project and client site attendance as required.
