Job description
A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Employment Associate to join its highly regarded Employment team in London.
The team advises a broad range of domestic and international clients, including financial institutions, multinational corporates, professional services firms, private businesses, charities and senior executives.
The successful candidate will work closely with market-leading partners across a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
- Day-to-day employment and HR advisory work
- Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation
- Corporate transactional support
- Workplace and regulatory investigations
- Senior executive advisory matters
The role offers extensive client contact and the opportunity to manage matters with appropriate partner support.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied employment caseload from inception through to completion
- Advising clients on a wide range of employment law and HR issues
- Conducting employment litigation and managing external counsel where appropriate
- Providing employment support on corporate and commercial transactions
- Drafting clear, commercial and practical advice
- Delivering internal and external training sessions
- Contributing to articles, client updates, podcasts and know-how initiatives
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting the development of junior lawyers and trainees
- Participating in business development and profile-raising activities
The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from Employment Associates with strong private practice experience gained at a respected City, national or international law firm.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent technical employment law knowledge
- Strong litigation and advisory experience
- Commercial awareness and sound judgement
- Exceptional drafting and communication skills
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach
- A genuine interest in business development and client relationship management
- The ability to work collaboratively whilst taking ownership of matters
