Persona Care and Support is seeking an exceptional finance director to join our executive leadership team and help shape the future of our successful, values-led social care organisation.

This is far more than a traditional finance role; we really are looking for a unicorn!

Reporting to the managing director and working closely with the board and shareholders, you will play a central role in driving strategy, enabling growth, ensuring robust governance and helping the organisation deliver sustainable financial performance. The role carries responsibility for finance, business intelligence, ICT, asset management and building maintenance.

We are looking for a commercially aware and strategically-minded leader who can combine strong financial stewardship with innovation, insight and a genuine commitment to improving lives through high-quality care and support services. So, not your average bean counter!

Essential Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
  • Commitment to continuing professional development

Experience

  • Senior finance leadership within a £10m+ organisation
  • Leadership of a finance function
  • Operating effectively at board level
  • Working with auditors, regulators and statutory bodies

Capability

  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Effective business partnering
  • Strong leadership and relationship management
  • Exceptional communication and report-writing skills for both financial and non-financial audiences

About the role

You will:

  • provide strategic financial leadership to the board and executive team.
  • shape organisational strategy and support sustainable growth ambitions.
  • ensure robust governance, compliance and accountability.
  • lead financial planning, forecasting, investment decisions and commercial development.
  • drive the use of business intelligence and performance data as strategic assets.
  • provide leadership across ICT, asset management and facilities functions.
  • build strong relationships with the shareholders, board, regulators and external partners.
