Senior Project Manager (Construction Fit-Out)
JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading AI Infrastructure company as they look to expand their team with a Senior Project Manager in the UK.
This is a permanent position based in the UK, with hybrid working and an expectation of site presence roughly once a week. The package includes a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and share scheme.
Responsibilities:
- Own project delivery for data centre builds end-to-end, from design through construction, commissioning and handover into operations.
- Control scope, programme and quality, keeping delivery aligned to design intent and wider business goals.
- Direct discipline-specific project managers (MEP, CSA) as needed, ensuring all workstreams come together seamlessly.
- Track budgets and programme alongside the Commercial Manager, flagging risks and reporting progress to stakeholders.
- Partner with the design team on reviews, approvals and documentation control.
- Work with general contractors to evaluate local build capability, resourcing and performance on the ground.
- Keep the programme on track, spotting delays early and putting recovery plans in place.
- Champion a strong safety culture through active engagement, auditing and compliance oversight.
- Run regular status meetings, produce reporting, and keep communication flowing between site teams and leadership.
- Support regulatory and building code compliance, advising on design implications and alternative solutions where needed.
Requirements:
- 8+ years' experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical construction projects, with a strong grounding in data centre new-build and fit-out.
- Experience with advanced liquid cooling infrastructure for high-density compute environments would be highly advantageous.
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
- Track record managing complex, multi-discipline delivery teams.
- Solid grasp of construction sequencing, scheduling and coordination.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable leading in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident user of project management and reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of commercial and contractual principles to keep delivery aligned with cost and schedule targets.
