Role Description This is a full-time remote contract opportunity for an Experienced Borescope & Blade Blend Engineer. The role involves performing detailed borescope inspections on various modern turbine engines, identifying and documenting findings, and recommending appropriate repair actions in line with OEM and regulatory guidance. The engineer will execute high-pressure compressor blade blending and minor repairs, ensuring work quality, airworthiness compliance, and accurate reporting.


Daily tasks include reviewing technical documentation, interpreting maintenance manuals, preparing inspection reports, and coordinating with customers, MRO teams, and internal stakeholders regarding work scopes and timelines. The role also requires participating in remote consultations, supporting troubleshooting activities, and contributing to continuous improvement of inspection and repair processes.


Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to assess inspection findings, evaluate damage limits, and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with borescope inspection and blade blend repairs on modern turbine engines (e.g., CFM, GE, Rolls-Royce), preferably in a Part-145 / FAA-145 environment.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation maintenance regulations, OEM manuals, airworthiness requirements, and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage workloads, and meet tight turnaround times while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Minimum 5 years Experience with relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in aerospace engineering, aviation maintenance, or a closely related field; EASA/FAA licenses or equivalent approvals are highly beneficial.
  • Experience collaborating with airline or MRO customers, with a focus on minimising downtime and supporting operational reliability.
