Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential? We are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Residential Support Workers to join our established Children's Residential Home in Tamworth, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, therapeutic care in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. You will support young people to develop life skills, build positive relationships, improve emotional wellbeing, and achieve positive outcomes.

No two days are the same. You'll be involved in supporting education, attending appointments, encouraging hobbies and activities, preparing meals, completing daily records, and creating memorable experiences for the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, child-centred care and emotional support.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Promote independence, resilience, and personal development.
  • Safeguard and protect children, ensuring their welfare remains paramount.
  • Support with education, health appointments, family contact, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate daily records and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, education providers, and other professionals.
  • Promote positive behaviour using therapeutic and restorative approaches.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience within children's residential care.

Desirable:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support.
