Are you an experienced senior support worker or a motivated support worker looking for a new challenge? Come and join our friendly team to support a young man in his family home and in the community.

Salary range £32,760- £35,000 Full time 35 hours per week (higher end if working at weekends)

Hours: fixed hours to be agreed - between 20 and 35 hours per week (Shifts available are Mondays to Fridays 4-10pm; Saturdays/Sundays 7 to 9 hours up to 10pm (hours can be discussed)

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting daily routines from morning support to bedtime including all daily activities and all aspects of personal care
  • Planning fun, person-centred activities that boost wellbeing
  • Contributing to tailored support plans
  • Building therapeutic relationships that truly make a difference
  • Keeping accurate support notes
  • Preparing and administering medication
  • Supporting walks and other activities in the community
  • Performing light household duties

There is plenty of scope for the role to develop to take on more tasks including managing the care plan and progress to a team leader role if this is of interest.

Who you will be supporting

You will be joining a warm and friendly team who provides a high standard of care to a young man with autism, severe learning disability and epilepsy in his own home and in the community. He has a lovely personality with a cheeky sense of humour. He is much loved by all those around him including his carers.

You will need:

  • Prior experience working 1:1, 2:1 or higher ratio with young people or adults with autism and learning disability who are non verbal
  • To be confident dealing with behaviours that challenge and able to provide positive behaviour support
  • Be a team player and be equally comfortable working on your own
  • A valid UK driving license and your own car
  • Excellent communication skills and written and spoken English
  • A positive and can do attitude
  • A track record of taking ownership of the care you provide
  • Prior experience with seizures desirable but not essential
