SEMH Teaching Assistant - Reading

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

A Secondary SEMH School in Reading is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Psychologists, Therapists, Counsellors or Teachers to gain hands-on experience in an SEMH setting.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
Support students with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
Monitor students' wellbeing, behaviour and progress.

We're looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who is:

Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs.
A confident communicator and positive role model.
Interested in pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy or mental health.
Able to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging behaviour.

Setting: Secondary SEMH School
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £93-£110 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Full-time
