HGV Class 1 Driver – Solihull

Earn up to £930 per week | Guaranteed Work Available | 3 Months' Experience Required

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a number of HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods, offering regular guaranteed work, excellent rates of pay, and long-term opportunities.

\n

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, CE Driver, Store Delivery Driver, Trunk Driver, or Class 1 Delivery Driver.

\n

Shifts

\n

 • Monday to Sunday operation
\n  • Various shifts and start times available
\n  • Days: 03:00 – 06:00 starts (flexibility available)
\n  • Afternoons: From 15:00 onwards (flexibility available)
\n  • 4 on 4 off shifts available
\n  • Monday to Friday shifts available
\n  • Sunday to Thursday shifts available
\n  • Weekend shifts available
\n  • Ad-hoc work also available

\n

Rates of Pay

\n

 • Monday to Friday – £17.75 per hour
\n  • Saturday – £19.00 per hour
\n  • Sunday – £20.00 per hour

\n

Day-to-Day Duties

\n

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

\n

 • Completing 2-3 deliveries per shift
\n  • Carrying out store deliveries to various locations
\n  • Trunking work available on afternoon shifts
\n  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required
\n  • Completing pre and post vehicle checks
\n  • Completing all relevant paperwork and using a PDA where necessary
\n  • Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
\n  • Adhering to all driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations

\n

Essential Skills

\n

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

\n

 • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum of three months' Category CE driving experience
\n  • Valid UK Driver CPC Card
\n  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • Good communication skills and a professional manner
\n  • A flexible and reliable approach to work

\n

Desirable Experience

\n

 • Previous store delivery experience
\n  • Previous trunking experience
\n  • Experience delivering household goods or retail products
\n  • Experience working within a fast-paced transport environment

\n

Training Provided

\n

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment

\n
