Job description
CCI (Critical Care International Ltd) is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Lead to build and lead a resilient supply chain delivering essential medical consumables to remote sites across 26 countries.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role covering network design, planning, inventory management, procurement, logistics, last-mile delivery, and regulatory compliance. You will also lead the selection and implementation of a digital ordering and planning platform designed for remote, low-connectivity environments.
You will own the supply chain from supplier to site, ensuring reliable replenishment and rapid response when challenges arise.
Key Objectives – a quick overview
- Build and manage a robust and scalable procurement strategy, ensuring reliable supply, competitive value, appropriate quality and resilient supplier relationships across global markets
- Establish appropriate regulatory, import and compliance processes for each market
- Design & optimise demand, supply, inventory and replenishment planning processes to minimise waste and expiry
- Implement a fit-for-purpose digital planning and ordering platform
- Develop effective remote and last-mile logistics solutions which enables a reliable replenishment strategy and emergency delivery capability
- Identify, manage and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity
- Drive continuous improvement through data, KPIs and partner performance
What you’ll do:
Supply Chain Set Up, Regulatory, Performance & Risk Management
- Design the global supply chain model and regional distribution network
- Lead global procurement and selection for suppliers of medical consumables, logistics providers, distributors and appropriate local partners
- Implement appropriate contractual frameworks
- Lead the selection, implementation and continuous improvement of the supply chain ordering and planning platform
- Coordinate and ensure partner compliance with country-specific regulations
- Manage supplier performance, cost, quality and supply continuity, building resilient sourcing and contingency options
- Establish and optimise supply chain planning processes
- Define and standardise key supply chain performance indicators to drive decision-making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Maintain supply chain risk registers, contingency plans and mitigation strategies for major disruptions
Planning & Inventory
- Standardise the global formulary in collaboration with clinical teams
- Develop demand forecasts, inventory policies and appropriate safety-stock parameters
- Translate demand, inventory and operational data into actionable supply and replenishment plans
Logistics Architecture
- Build practical logistics solutions for remote and infrastructure-constrained sites
- Manage the fortnightly (or as agreed) replenishment cycle and coordinate urgent or exception shipments
- Monitor On Time In Full (OTIF), identifying and implementing improvements to delivery reliability
Digital, Data & AI
- Establish robust master data management across for example SKUs, suppliers, customer locations, lead times, minimum order quantities, inventory and other critical supply chain data fields
- Ensure data quality, governance and standardisation across global and regional operations
- Ensure the digital solution supports mobile use, low-connectivity environments and geocoded locations
- Identify and apply AI-enabled tools and use cases to improve for example demand planning, inventory optimisation, exception management, logistics and supply chain decision-making
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- 5+ years’ experience in end-to-end supply chain, including international or multi-country operations
- Experience in planning, procurement, inventory and logistics, including the use of digital/AI planning, ordering solutions and spreadsheet modelling
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple partners
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with external partners in a global environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- Fluent English
Desirable:
- Remote or field logistics experience, e.g. Mining, oil & gas or humanitarian ops
- Experience with medical devices or other regulated products
- Familiarity with international regulatory, import/export requirements and relevant quality-management systems
- Experience implementation of ordering or supply chain planning systems
- Additional languages, especially Spanish, would be advantageous
- Advanced degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management
- Medical-sector experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who can manage complexity, build effective systems and solve problems in challenging environments.
