Commercial Solicitor | In-house | Chester area (hybrid)

A large, well-known consumer business with operations in the UK and overseas is hiring a Commercial Solicitor into its in-house legal team, based in the Chester area on a hybrid basis.

This is a broad remit for a confident lawyer. You will own your own caseload of commercial agreements while advising the business on the projects that shape it, working directly with senior stakeholders rather than at arm's length.

The remit:

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across supply, technology and brand licensing

• Running your own matters end to end, setting your own priorities

• Advising on new ventures, partnerships and joint ventures as they come through the business

• Guiding teams on advertising and consumer-facing compliance

• Privacy advice and support on contentious matters when they arise

• Acting as first port of call for the day to day legal questions that land from across the group

Requirements:

• Around six years or more post qualification experience, in-house or in private practice

• A confident contract drafter who can carry a full caseload without close supervision

• Calm under deadline pressure, with genuine care for detail

• Someone who builds easy working relationships across a business, at every level

• Any exposure to privacy, disputes, consumer, brand or corporate work is welcome, though appetite matters more than a checklist

Equally open to lawyers already in-house and to those in private practice making a first move.

Package:

• £65,000 to £75,000, depending on experience

• Hybrid, three days a week on site once you are settled in

• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
