The Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially aware Estimator to drive the creation of accurate, strategic cost estimates for retail display projects. This role will work closely with the commercial team & sourcing team to develop winning proposalsmanufacturing-based estimators to deliver complex, multi-material costings across metalwork, joinery, plastics, and print.


The Role

Responsible for the creation of accurate and commercially competitive cost estimates for retail display projects. Works closely with the commercial team to develop winning proposals and steers a team of manufacturing-based estimators to deliver detailed, multi-material costings across metalwork, joinery, plastics, and print. Ensures estimates are well-structured, risk-aware, and aligned with project and client expectations.


Job Title: Estimator

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities


  • Estimating Process:
  • Own the end-to-end estimating process for retail display projects, from brief to submission.
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with commercial strategy.
  • Commercial Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the commercial and sales teams to shape competitive proposals.
  • Provide cost insights and value engineering options to support bid strategy.
  • Technical Interpretation:
  • Translate design concepts, technical drawings, and specifications into detailed cost breakdowns.
  • Identify and flag technical risks or cost drivers early in the process.
  • Supplier & Internal Liaison:
  • Engage with suppliers and internal production teams to validate pricing, lead times, and feasibility.
  • Maintain up-to-date cost databases and supplier benchmarks.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices in cost modelling and estimation methodology.
  • Implement new technologies such as AI in estimating process
  • Risk & Opportunity Analysis:
  • Highlight cost risks and opportunities in each estimate.
  • Support commercial decision-making with scenario-based costing and margin analysis.
  • Project Handover Support:
  • Ensure smooth transition of estimates to project execution teams with clear documentation and rationale.




Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven background in estimating within retail display, shopfitting, or fixture manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with BOM and processes including metalwork, joinery, plastics, and print.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, Monday.com and estimating software.
  • Exposure to client-facing commercial environments and tender submission teams



Salary: depending on background and experience
