We're working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Cheltenham that is looking to appoint a Senior Tax Manager to play a key role within its growing tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with genuine client advisory work. You'll work closely with senior leadership and a varied portfolio of clients, providing proactive tax advice while helping to shape and develop the wider tax offering.

The Role

As Senior Tax Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio and act as a trusted adviser to clients on a broad range of tax matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of clients, ensuring a high-quality and proactive service.
  • Providing strategic tax planning and advisory support.
  • Reviewing complex tax computations, returns and associated compliance work.
  • Advising clients on tax-efficient structures, transactions and longer-term planning.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value and provide additional advisory support.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and communicating these effectively to clients.
  • Working closely with Partners and senior colleagues on complex assignments.
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing more junior members of the team.
  • Contributing to the continued development and growth of the tax function.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent commercial and client-facing skills.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Significant UK tax experience gained within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
  • Previous experience at Tax Manager or Senior Manager level, or be ready to make that step.
  • CTA, ACA and/or ACCA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge with experience of both compliance and advisory work.
  • Confidence managing your own client portfolio and building long-term relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to mentor and support junior colleagues.
  • A proactive, commercial approach to identifying opportunities and solving client problems.

What's on Offer?

  • £65,000 - £75,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • Senior-level position with genuine influence and autonomy.
  • Opportunity to work closely with Partners and senior leadership.
  • Varied and interesting client portfolio.
  • Excellent scope for continued career progression.
  • Company pension.
  • Annual leave entitlement.
  • On-site parking.
  • Relaxed, professional working environment with casual dress.

If you're an experienced tax professional looking for a role where you can make an impact, develop client relationships and continue progressing your career, we'd love to hear from you.
