The Job Youll Do:
Ensuring materials are purchased at the most cost-effective price and in the most cost-effective way
Monthly monitoring of suppliers' performance and co-ordinating associated progress activities
Working together with other departments within the business on a daily basis, ensuring purchase process is followed.
General system/departmental administration support to ensure system accuracy, purchase order issue and data is maintained.
Support project teams where new projects are being introduced
Capable of working autonomously with objectives being set by the Lead Buyer or wider Purchase management structure.
Monitoring of cost throughout projects, identifying and tracking cost drivers
Capable of cascading targets and objectives to sub-suppliers and ensuring targets and objectives are achieved
Support Cost down projects and purchase requirements
Work within project teams developing and adhering to project timing requirements
About You:
Experience within a purchasing, procurement or buying function within an engineering/manufacturing business
Possess a strong interest in Business topics with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
A strong problem-solving ability is necessary with the drive & tenacity to follow issues through to satisfactory completion.
Flexible, team-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
General computer literacy with a working knowledge of all relevant software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
