Job description
The role will support design and construction delivery under a DCO, focusing on environmental compliance, consultant management, programme, cost and approved design requirements.
Principal accountabilities
- Manage design delivery and environmental requirements across archaeology, ecology, water, soil, waste and materials.
- Develop scopes, design briefs and consultant requirements aligned to project needs.
- Oversee consultants and design outputs to ensure quality, value and compliance.
- Promote safe, sustainable and cost-effective design solutions, including carbon reduction.
- Support technical reviews, design changes, stakeholder engagement, CDM duties and contractor evaluations.
- Manage site environmental constraints and support commissioning, handover and statutory compliance.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management; chartership desirable.
- UK design or design management experience on environment-led construction projects.
- Knowledge of UK environmental legislation, consents, regulators and HSE requirements.
- Understanding of construction methods, constructability, quality, close-out and handover.
- Strong problem-solving skills with resilience and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Microsoft Office/Project knowledge; NEC experience and CSCS card desirable.
