About Greenwoods

At Greenwoods, we are proud to be different. We combine serious legal capability with a culture built on respect, excellence, freedom, and fun. We are commercially ambitious, PE-backed, and growing - but we have not lost sight of what matters. Great people doing great work for clients and being themselves while they do it.

We are building a firm that sounds like people, not an institution. Our approach is grounded in commercial acumen and real commitment - to our clients and to each other.

Greenwoods is a law firm working with entrepreneurial businesses, corporates, private equity-backed groups and high-net-worth individuals across London, Cambridge and Peterborough.

Our tax practice sits at the centre of complex transactions and planning work, giving advisers early exposure to high-quality, commercially significant instructions alongside partners and senior colleagues.

This is a genuine opportunity to build a career in corporate tax within a collaborative, client-focused team that invests in its people.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Junior Corporate Tax Adviser to join our growing tax practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (NQ - 3PQE) with experience in corporate tax advisory within practice.

The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior advisers on a broad range of UK corporate tax matters, M&A transactions, restructuring projects and tax planning assignments for entrepreneurial businesses, corporates, private equity-backed groups and high-net-worth individuals.

This role offers exposure to high-quality advisory work in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Corporate Tax Advisory
• Advising clients on UK corporation tax matters.
• Assisting with tax planning and structuring projects.
• Researching and analysing complex tax issues.
• Drafting technical advice, reports and client communications.
• Monitoring tax legislation and HMRC guidance developments.

Transactions and Corporate Work
• Supporting corporate acquisitions, disposals and investments.
• Undertaking tax due diligence reviews.
• Advising on transaction structuring and tax-efficient implementation.
• Assisting with management buy-outs, group reorganisations and corporate restructurings.
• Reviewing tax aspects of legal documentation where appropriate.

Client Service
• Building relationships with clients and professional intermediaries.
• Participating in client meetings and presentations.
• Responding to client enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Supporting business development initiatives and networking activities.

Technical Development
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Contributing to internal technical updates and training.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across legal, tax and corporate teams.

What success looks like

This role is measured on the quality, reliability and commercial impact of the advice and support provided. Key measures include:
• Quality and technical accuracy of advice, drafting and client communications.
• Reliable, timely delivery across tax advisory and transaction workstreams.
• Positive feedback from partners, senior advisers and clients on responsiveness and professionalism.
• Growing technical breadth across due diligence, restructurings and planning assignments.
• Progress towards CTA qualification where relevant, and development as a rounded corporate tax adviser.

Experience and qualities

This role requires a qualified accountant with a strong grounding in corporate tax advisory. You will be someone who:
• Is ACA (ICAEW) or ACCA qualified, with experience in a corporate tax advisory team within practice.
• Has, or is developing, a sound understanding of UK corporate tax principles.
• Exposure to transactions, restructurings or tax planning assignments, or is keen to build this quickly.
• Strong academic record and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Has strong drafting and written communication abilities, with close attention to detail.
• Commercially aware, pragmatic, and comfortable working directly with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Exposure to, or an interest in, tax due diligence, M&A, corporate reorganisations, share incentive arrangements, international tax, employment-related securities or private equity transactions.
• Curious, proactive, team-oriented and commercially minded, with a strong commitment to client service.
• Working towards, or open to, the CTA qualification.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across legal, tax and corporate teams

Why join Greenwoods

This is a broad, varied role offering exposure to a wide range of complex and interesting corporate tax matters, with direct access to partners and senior advisers from day one.

Greenwoods provides structured training and professional development, clear career progression, and support for CTA qualification where relevant, alongside a competitive salary and benefits package in a flexible and supportive working environment.
