Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver (Outside London Deliveries)
Location: Dartford, Kent

Job Description:
REC Source is currently recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers for a well-established logistics operation based in Dartford, Kent , delivering to commercial customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 2 drivers looking for regular Monday-to-Friday work , guaranteed daily hours and the potential to secure a permanent position.
Drivers will complete up to approximately 1516 deliveries per shift to B2B customer locations.
The role is physically active and involves handling products weighing up to 250kg , using the specialist manual-handling equipment provided.
Drivers are not expected to lift these items unaided . Equipment including vehicle-mounted winches, trolleys and skates is provided, while some customer locations have carpet booms available to unload directly from the vehicle.
Drivers will also be provided with a PDA device containing approved navigation and mapping software to assist with route planning, low-bridge avoidance and locating delivery addresses.
The PDA is also used for product scanning, proof of delivery and electronic job completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete up to 1516 B2B deliveries per shift
Deliver products safely and professionally to customer locations
Use provided winches, trolleys, skates and other handling equipment when required
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects
Use the supplied PDA device for navigation and route planning
Scan products and capture electronic proof of delivery
Complete delivery jobs accurately and in real time
Ensure all tachograph and driving-hours requirements are followed
Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at every delivery point
Ensure safe and compliant driving at all times
Requirements:
Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Licence
Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum 12 months recent Class 2 driving experience preferred
No more than 6 penalty points
No DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements
Physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual-handling duties
Comfortable using specialist handling equipment
Good communication and customer-service skills
Able to use a PDA device for navigation, scanning and electronic job completion
Reliable, professional and safety-focused
Willing to complete an on-site driving assessment and induction prior to starting
Benefits:

Pay Rates:
£20.73 per hour PAYE including Holiday Minimum 10 hours paid per shift
A 45-minute break is deducted only when the shift exceeds 10 hours and 45 minutes
Overtime is payable after 53.75 hours per week , calculated after applicable break deductions across the working week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start Time: 06:00 AM
Minimum Paid Hours: 10 hours per day
