What skills and experience we're looking for

We're a dynamic and enterprising multi academy trust of 15 schools in North and West Yorkshire. We are looking for an experienced school business leader to drive effective operational delivery across our Harrogate Hub of five schools. You'll have oversight of estates and facilities management as well as day to day finance and HR processes. You will support the strategic development of schools within the Hub. You'll be supported by a Hub Estates Manager, a Business Officer and work closely with school admin teams. You will excel in relationship management, working closely with headteachers and other stakeholders to be a visible and effective leader within the Hub.

This is a full time (37 hours per week), all year round permanent post.

  • Direct of experience of school business management with responsibility across a full range of business services.
  • Experience of working at senior school or trust leadership level, providing advice and support to senior leaders.
  • Experience of procurement and effective contract management to secure value for money from contractors.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety frameworks in schools, able to provide advice to colleagues on core issues
  • A strong understanding of school finance with experience of creating and managing a school budget.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding requirements in schools and of requirements for a compliant SCR in particular.
  • Recognised school business management qualification
  • Recognised health and safety qualification
  • Experience of designing business processes to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of IT systems relevant to school business management: Arbor, Every, IMP
  • An understanding of payroll processes and pay and conditions arrangements in schools
