Class 2 HGV Driver Temporary Work

Job Type: Temporary / Ad-hoc

We are currently looking for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy food wholesaler on a temporary basis.

This is a hands-on delivery role involving the transportation and delivery of food products to customers. The position involves regular manual handling and heavy lifting, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable with the demands of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 HGV safely and responsibly
• Delivering food products to customers on scheduled routes
• Loading and unloading the vehicle
• Manual handling and heavy lifting of food products
• Using sack trucks, pallet trucks and delivery equipment where required
• Completing multi-drop deliveries
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Completing delivery paperwork / electronic proof of delivery
• Providing professional customer service
• Following all company health & safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience preferred
• Experience within food, wholesale or distribution is an advantage
• Comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Good knowledge of UK roads
