** Part-Time - Monday to Friday - 9am - 1pm **


Our client is an international, corporate organisation, actively involved in Precious and Platinum Group Metals trading (PGMs).


The successful provide a daily support for two Overseas offices with regards to metal transfers, currently settlements, data reconciliation, etc. The secondary part of the role will be to provide support for the physical business for Precious Metals, as well as working on new business development projects.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Arrange metal and currency settlements in accordance with company procedures within tight deadlines.
  • Administration and settlements of long-term contracts & processing financing.
  • Following up on overdue payments and settle overdue payment if necessary.
  • Investigate settlement queries with the Accounts Department and customers.
  • Data entry/ data check
  • Daily USD / EUR and JPY Settlements
  • Report and account reconciliation (daily & monthly) – investigate problems where necessary.
  • Prepare and send invoices.
  • Maintain the digital filing and archiving systems.
  • Maintain the customer database.
  • Liaise with customers/suppliers (direct or through branch offices/agents) by telephone/ e-mail/letter etc.
  • Maintain, monitor, and extract information as required from the trading and accounting systems.
  • Trade Input into IT2 and data import
  • Trade input checking as part of EOD closing process.
  • FX reconciliations against metal trades
  • Be aware of leases maturing and assist the marketers with documentation and administration.
  • Assist with physical shipments/logistics.
  • Assist internal and external audit requests.
  • Carry out ad hoc departmental tasks as instructed by line manager as/ when required.
  • Collaborate with the external system vendor and internal IT Department for trouble shooting.
  • Fully understand all accounting requirements relevant to the transactions.
  • Troubleshoot internal and external issues and resolve such problems or claims with counter parties smoothly.
  • Ensure efficient document workflow under company’s internal control procedures.
  • To create a new workflow process from start to finish in line with company policy & internal control regulations.
  • Provide support with new projects such as UK REACH and CBAM.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Good knowledge of Precious Metals market, settlements, deliveries; other metals backgrounds considered.
  • Experience in physical Precious Metals/Metals logistics.
  • Basic understanding of the mechanics of Front Office trading
  • Strong PC skills for utilising current systems and adapting to new electronic ways of working.
  • Professional influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to self-organise tasks allocated.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language skills at business level.
  • Very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Microsoft office skills to intermediate level (specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • IT knowledge of SAP.
  • Degree level education & GCSE level Mathematics & English language (overseas equivalents apply).
