Job description

Legal Counsel – Remote | London Office

A leading international business operating across specialist global services and complex commercial operations is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to support its international business.

This is a broad in-house opportunity offering exposure to a wide range of commercial and legal matters. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing practical legal advice and supporting the organisation across contracts, compliance and day-to-day legal matters.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, working with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts meet business requirements while appropriately managing risk.

The role will also involve adapting and developing contract templates, providing day-to-day legal advice, drafting correspondence, supporting compliance policies and conducting legal research. You’ll also liaise with external counsel where specialist advice is required.

This is an opportunity to become a trusted legal partner to the wider business, providing pragmatic advice and helping stakeholders find commercially sensible solutions to legal issues.

What We're Looking For

  • UK-qualified solicitor with strong commercial contracts experience.
  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk and commercial considerations.
  • Ideally some in-house experience, although strong commercial private practice experience will be considered.

  • Able to manage a varied workload and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable advising non-legal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a willingness to take ownership.
