We are a family-run business seeking a Part-timeSaturday Forecourt Shop Assistant to join our team at a busy petrol station in Castle Cary. The role requires someone who is alert, able to cope under pressure, and confident handling fast-paced customer interactions. Full on-site training will be provided.

Saturday consists of two shifts - Morning = 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - Afternoon = 1:00 pm -5:45 pm

\n

Duties will include:

\n

• Processing payments cash, card, and fuel card transactions for fuel, shop goods, and workshop invoices.

\n

• Completing daily routines morning and end-of-day procedures.

\n

• Maintaining shop standards restocking shelves, cleaning the shop area, and ensuring the coffee machine is cleaned and replenished.

\n

• Checking product dates monitoring fresh food and completing other tasks as required.

\n\n

This list is not exhaustive; similar duties relevant to the role of a sales assistant may be requested from time to time.

• Job Type: Part-time

• Pay: Minimum Wage

\n

• Core Hours: Saturdays, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm (5.0 hrs pw) or 1:00 pm 5:45 pm (4.75 hrs pw) Saturday availability is essential.

\n\n

Additional weekday availability particularly for morning and afternoon shifts would be highly beneficial to support holiday and sickness cover.

• Must be over 18 due to lone working and the sale of age-restricted products.

\n

• Must be able to stay focused, work accurately, and handle busy periods confidently.

\n

• Must be comfortable with basic payment handling and following set procedures.

\n

• Must be able to think clearly under pressure and maintain high standards of customer service.
