Academics are working with a supportive secondary school in Reading who are looking for a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

\n

This is a great opportunity for an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, youth worker or someone with experience supporting young people.

Your Role

\n

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

\n

    \n
  • Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • \n

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
  • \n

  • Help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
  • \n

  • Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
  • \n

  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • \n

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
  • \n

  • Help create a safe and supportive learning environment.

\n\n

We're Looking For in a SEMH Teaching Assistant

  • Patient, calm and resilient.
  • \n

  • Passionate about supporting young people.
  • \n

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n

  • Reliable, positive and professional.
  • \n

  • Interested in developing a career within education.

Previous experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

  • Pay: £93-£110 per day
  • \n

  • Contract: Full-time
