Location: Coventry CV3 Pay: £14.82 per hour PAYE / £20.19 per hour Umbrella Hours: 37 hours per week + 45 minutes per day overtime for vehicle checks Contract: Temporary initially 3 months, ongoing Start: ASAP Working Pattern: 45 days per week, Monday/Tuesday to Friday depending on rota Start Times: From approximately 7:00am, with some 6:00am starts depending on weather Positions Available: 5

We are recruiting 5 experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy Environmental Services operation in Coventry.
This is a hands-on driving role providing essential services across Coventry and surrounding areas. Duties can include waste and recycling collections, highway sweeping and drainage operations.

## The Role

Your duties will include:

• Driving and safely operating Class 2 HGV vehicles.
• Completing daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Reporting vehicle defects and completing relevant documentation.
• Ensuring allocated rounds and daily work are completed.
• Working safely alongside operational crews.
• Following road transport and Health & Safety regulations.
• Monitoring vehicle weights and drivers' hours.
• Reporting accidents, near misses and operational issues.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to members of the public.
• Following disposal-site procedures and Safe Systems of Work.

## Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence. Driver CPC. No more than 6 penalty points on their licence. A good professional driving record. Good knowledge of road transport legislation. Experience manoeuvring HGV vehicles safely, including in confined spaces. Good understanding of operational Health & Safety. Ability to work to daily targets and remain calm when working under pressure.

## Pre-Employment Checks

Successful candidates will be required to complete a DVLA licence check and Driver's Declaration, with one recent employment reference required. Candidates will also need to pass a driving assessment and informal interview. Safety boots must be provided by the driver. All other required PPE will be supplied.
