HGV Class 1 Driver Trunking / Curtain Side Tamworth, Staffordshire People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This position is ideal for candidates seeking a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts: Monday to Friday Start times between 15.00 18.00 (flexibility required)

Rates of Pay: £17.00 per hour Basic £19.14 per hour Saturday £25.18 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your day-to-day duties will include: Completing 23 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift Operating curtain-side trailers (no handball required) Driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently Carrying out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly

Essential Skills: To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need: A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence A minimum of twelve month's Class 1 driving experience A valid Driver CPC qualification A valid Digital Tachograph Card No more than six penalty points for minor offences No major endorsement codes A strong understanding of UK road traffic laws Excellent communication and timekeeping skills The ability to work independently and maintain professionalism

Desirable Experience: Previous commercial driving experience Experience completing trunking or depot-to-depot runs

Training Provided: Driver assessment required prior to starting One-day paid induction following successful assessment
