PurposeoftheRole:HGVDriver
Todeliverahigh-qualitywastecollectionandtransportationservicebasedatChelsonMeadowandWestonMillHouseholdWasteRecyclingCentres,ensuringoperationsarecarriedoutsafely,efficiently,andeffectively.Therolecontributestomaintainingagreener,cleanercitythroughreliableservicedelivery.
KeyResponsibilities:HGVDriver
Operatearangeofvehicles,includingskipvehicles,hookloaders,andarticulatedvehicleswithtrailers.
Ensurethesafe,compliant,andefficientcollection,transportation,anddisposalofwastematerialsbothonandoffsitetodesignateddisposalpoints.
Maintainaccuraterecordsofloadsmoved,ensuringcompliancewithweightsandmeasuresrequirementsandEnvironmentAgencyregulations.
MaintainavalidDriverCertificateofProfessionalCompetence(CPC)anddigitaltachographcardatalltimes.
AdheretoOperator(O)Licencerequirements,drivingregulations,andWorkingTimeDirectiverules.
Ensurehighstandardsofproductivity,workquality,andoperationalefficiency.
Provideexcellentcustomerserviceandmaintainaprofessionalapproachwheninteractingwiththepublicandstakeholders.
UpholdthereputationofPlymouthCityCouncilthroughthedeliveryofacriticalfrontlineservice.
Carryoutdailyvehiclechecksandreportanydefectsinlinewithprocedures.
Supportenvironmentalobjectivesbypromotingsafeandsustainablewastehandlingpractices.
KeySkillsandExperience:HGVDriver
RelevantLGV/HGVdrivinglicence(appropriatetovehicletype).
ValidCPCqualificationanddigitaltachographcard.
KnowledgeofdrivingregulationsandWorkingTimeDirectiverules.
Strongawarenessofhealthandsafetyrequirements.
Abilitytoworkbothindependentlyandaspartofateam.
Goodcommunicationandcustomerserviceskills.
Reliable,flexible,andabletoworkinaphysicallydemandingenvironment.
