Job description
Our client, the founder of a renowned and successful hedge fund, is now setting up his own Family Office. This newly-created business will diversify his investments, building a multi-asset portfolio spanning public and private markets, real estate as well as developing charitable initiatives including a philanthropic foundation.
The Family Office has just launched, and we are looking to hire a lawyer at inception, in order to help build the business. The lawyer who will report directly to the COO and will assume a senior and visible role with responsibility for all legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters affecting the business.
More specifically, the successful candidate will lend their expertise to the following matters, amongst others:
- Providing corporate and commercial legal advice across the full-range of the Family Office’s activities;
- Supporting transactional and execution advice for each asset class of the multi-asset investment portfolio;
- Negotiating relevant documentation with banks, lenders, custodians and administrators pertaining to trading activities;
- Taking responsibility for the legal governance of the company’s structure and underlying entities;
- Managing the appointment and maintenance of relationships with external counsel.
Much like the hedge fund our client manages, this Family Office will be driven by a shrewd investment strategy and spirit of entrepreneurialism, meaning the successful candidate must be someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and has an adventurous and tenacious attitude.
As such, we are looking for candidates with a broad skill-set, acquired from prior in-house experience in financial services, ideally from the asset management/private wealth/banking or private equity sectors.
In return, our client will remunerate this position competitively on both base and bonus, as well as offering a substantive benefits package.
