Job Title: Senior Buyer

Department: Electrical

Location: Involves relocation within the UK or 2 night per week away with overnight stay

Salary: up to £65k

Position Summary:

We are seeking a confident and commercially minded Senior Buyer to develop and execute product assortment strategies that drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will identify market trends, negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the right products are available at the right time and price.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage product assortments across assigned merchandise categories.
• Analyse sales performance, stock levels, customer demand, and market trends to make informed buying decisions.
• Source new products and suppliers that align with company objectives and customer needs.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, promotional support, and supply agreements with vendors.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure product quality, availability, and competitiveness.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and emerging market trends.
• Partner with merchandising, marketing, planning, operations, and store teams to support product launches and promotional campaigns.
• Review category performance and implement strategies to improve sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
• Prepare and present category reviews and performance reports to management.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of buying or category management experience. Electrical experience preferred but open to any GM or FMCG retail background.
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
