Job description

About the role
The Bishop's Quarter is a premium hospitality and property business in Bishop Auckland, operated by TBQ Management Ltd. We're hiring two experienced, detail-oriented housekeepers to help us keep our holiday lets, apartments, communal areas and commercial premises immaculate and guest-ready.
This is not an entry-level cleaning job. We're looking for people who have worked in hospitality or professional housekeeping, who take genuine pride in their work and hold themselves to exceptionally high standards. If you notice the details others miss and take satisfaction in a space presented flawlessly, we'd like to hear from you.
We're building a small, trusted team, and there's real scope to grow your hours and take ownership as we expand.

What you'll be doing
Based at our Tenters Street premises and working across our properties in Bishop Auckland, you'll keep every space spotless and guest-ready. Your work will include:
Cleaning, sanitising and turning around our holiday lets between guests, to a premium finish
Stripping and remaking beds, and ironing and steaming bed linen and towels on-site so everything is crisp and impressive
Taking fresh linen to properties and returning used linen to our central point for laundering
Resetting each property to match our room guides and presentation standards, so every space is faultless
Restocking consumables and setting out the welcome touches that make a stay feel special
Keeping our offices and communal areas clean and presentable
General housekeeping across the wider portfolio, which occasionally includes a private residence
Carrying out periodic deep cleans and occasional one-off cleaning projects
Completing maintenance and functionality checks, and reporting any issues promptly
Watering outdoor pots and planters during the summer months

About you
Proven experience in hospitality or professional housekeeping
Genuinely high standards and a keen eye for presentation and detail
Honest, dependable, punctual and discreet, with respect for privacy and confidentiality
Confident knowledge of appropriate cleaning products and equipment, and safe, careful use around quality furnishings and surfaces
Physically fit and comfortable with the active, hands-on nature of the role
Able to work independently, manage your time well and use your initiative
Flexible around changeover days, which can include some weekends
Able to provide contactable references from previous employers
A full driving licence and your own transport are essential, as you'll move linen and supplies between our properties across Bishop Auckland.

What we offer
Permanent, employed (PAYE) role with a growing local business
Genuine scope to increase your hours as we expand over the coming year
On successful completion of a six-month probationary period, we plan to introduce additional benefits including dental cover and basic health insurance
A small, respectful team where your work is valued and your standards are central to what we do
